April – Hungarian debut in Budapest Palace of the Arts; Italian debut in Pieve San Siro, Cemmo.
May – Sell-out Brighton Festival debut, Brighton Dome.
June – Wigmore Hall debut.
September – Debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (Joshua Weilerstein) performing Rodrigo’s Concierto di Aranjuez; Artist in residence at the Lammermuir festival.
November – Sell-out debut in City Halls, Glasgow, with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (Andrew Manze) performing Rodrigo’s Concierto di Aranjuez. Broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
June – Recorded Takemitsu’s To the Edge of Dream with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (Christoph Koenig).
June – August – Resident at the Marlboro Music Festival and Summer School in Vermont, USA, as the first guitarist to be invited in 30 years.
November – Performed Britten’s Songs from the Chinese and a selection from his Folk Songs volume 6 with Ben Johnson. Broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from Aldeburgh as part of their residency over Benjamin Britten’s centenary weekend; Return to Italy to perform at the Pordenone Guitar Festival.
February – Wigmore Hall debut, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
April – Solo recitals at Glasgow City Halls; Sage Gateshead.
June/July – Solo recitals at the East Neuk Festival; Tour with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra performing Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un Gentilhombre
September – Performed for Sir Peter Maxwell Davies as part of his birthday celebrations in Scotland.
November – Performed Villa-Lobos’ Guitar Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
December – Performed Sir Malcolm Arnold’s Guitar Concerto with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, broacast live on BBC Radio 3; solo recital at the St. Magnus Winter Festival in Orkney.
